of Alaska, Fairbanks. BS in Electrical Engineering 1988.
Mr. Evan Roberts is a registered professional engineer in Alaska with over twenty years of progressive experience in consulting electrical engineering. His knowledge base and working relationships within the Fairbanks community are extensive.
Mr. Roberts is experienced in electrical plan and specification design and project management from concept through to completion. He has worked in numerous project teams with architects and engineers to generate well-integrated design packages. His projects have covered electrical engineering problems ranging from the conventional to the complex. He routinely adapts precedents and engineering theories and principles to the particular needs of each project.
His wide range of experience covers building and site electrical systems, interior and exterior lighting, power distribution, and signaling systems.
Lighting experience includes area and point-by-point lighting calculations, interior and exterior building lighting systems, building-wide integrated lighting controls, roadway, and exterior area lighting design.
Power distribution experience ranges from utility interface to general purpose outlets, and includes service entrances, disconnect switches, generators, transfer switches, motor control centers, distributed motor controls (including VFD’s). Voltage drop and short circuit calculations, overcurrent protection and feeder sizing, grounding, mechanical systems supply, and design of standby power systems are all routinely performed during design.
Signaling systems experience included voice and data LAN, security, fire alarm, television and CCTV, public address and intercom, and various other electronic signaling systems found in today’s buildings (Note: HVAC direct digital controls excluded, which are typically specified by mechanical engineers).
